EECF Receives $20,000 Contribution from Boreala Management for Espresso Hotel Lobby Refurbishment
The Eenou-Eeyou Community Foundation warmly thanks Boreala Management for a $20,000 donation towards the refurbishment of the Espresso Hotel lobby in Montreal. Boreala's contribution marks the first step toward the Cree Board of Health and Social Services of James Bay’s (CBHSSJB) fundraising goal of $75,000 needed to complete the project.
“This renovation goes beyond improving aesthetics with fresh paint and new furniture,” says Daniel St-Amour, outgoing Executive Director of the CBHSSJB. “It’s about finding comfort away from home. Our goal is to make Espresso a place of healing, connection, and belonging. It’s what our patients deserve.”
Wiichihiituwin, located in the Espresso Hotel, provides lodging for Eeyou/Eenou patients (and their caregivers) accessing medical care and treatment not available in Eeyou Istchee. The facility, which welcomes approximately 20,000 people annually, has been in need of renovations for some time.
Dr. Sarah Pash, Chair of the EECF, is touched by the contribution: “On behalf of the Foundation, we extend our gratitude to Boreala for their contribution. This initiative will see the Espresso Hotel lobby transform into a space that wraps our loved ones in warmth the moment they walk through the door. I know it will touch lives for years to come.”
