La Capitale Gives Major Donation to Eenou-Eeyou Community Foundation

The Eenou-Eeyou Community Foundation is delighted to announce receipt of a generous $200,000 donation from the La Capitale Foundation. The donation is to be used for health and social service projects in Eeyou Istchee, Northern Quebec.

La Capitale Financial Group Chief Executive Officer Jean St-Gelais explains: “Innovation in health care and social services is critical to the wellbeing of the James Bay Crees. La Capitale is deeply committed to reconciliation, and this gift underscores that commitment.”

Abel Bosum, Grand Chief of the Grand Council of the Crees (Eeyou Istchee) adds: “We’re excited that an organization of La Capitale’s stature and history has seen the value of strategic investment in the future of Eeyou Istchee. I would like to offer heartfelt thanks on behalf of the Eenou-Eeyou Community Foundation and the Cree Nation.”

The Eenou-Eeyou Community Foundation has offices in Oujé-Bougoumou and Montreal, QC. Tina Petawabano is its President. The Foundation promotes philanthropic development in Eeyou Istchee, with projects in education, youth development, community development, housing, health and social services, and culture.
